about
"It’s named after Franco Battiato’s ‘Cucurrucucú Paloma’ . It features a great group of musicians that I admire and respect so much.
(Keep reading if you wanna know all about it).
I first recorded a version of this song at @adam_amram studio, with part of his backing band, the @zzzwalk_ . The idea was to show up and write something up right there on the spot. It’s a different song for me, because I’ve never done something like that before, but I loved it. Then I decided to go record drums and percussions with Adam, @charlie_chimi and @therealmagicsandwich at my favorite studio upstate NY, @outliermusic and after that took the tapes back home and finished recording there with @joncatfishdelorme on lap steel, @russellmaania on Bass and Mark Perros from @wearethemenbk on DX7. I recorded some cuban cuatro, Rhodes, the Synths and Vocals. The best part was having @maestrodavidamram coming all the way to Rockaways to record the Penny Flutes solos and the French Horn. I feel so honored. The Amram Family has a lot to do with this song and with how I’ve evolved as a musician.
I also had my friends and Family @juanwautersofficial , @dantezaballa and Guido Colzani doing Backing vocals on the chorus.
Had the honor to get it mixed by the very talented Hector Castillo aka @perroconsed and asked the great @joshbonati to Master it.
Using a drawing by my main man @joseberriolesmes felt so right for the single art too.
The result is this song about the duality of life which I dedicate to my late Grandma, Maria Luisa, who taught me the love for music :)"
